What is the difference between a market order and a limit order?
A market order executes immediately at the best price currently available, while a limit order executes only at a price you specify or better. A market order prioritises speed and certainty of execution, accepting whatever price the market offers; a limit order prioritises price control, but may not fill if the market never reaches your level. For example, a buy limit at 95 fills only if the price drops to 95 or lower, whereas a market buy fills at once near the prevailing price. Each suits different intentions.
