Indian Compliance & Tax
What is Form 26AS and how does it show my crypto TDS?
Form 26AS is a consolidated tax statement maintained by the Income Tax Department that records tax credited against your PAN, including TDS. For crypto, the 1% TDS deducted on your transfers is reported here, so Form 26AS lets you confirm that what an exchange withheld actually reached the department. You then claim that credit when filing. For example, if ₹1,000 was deducted as TDS across your trades, it appears in Form 26AS and offsets your final liability, so you are not effectively taxed twice on the same amount.
