Are crypto assets on Indian exchanges insured?

Crypto assets on Indian exchanges are generally not covered by any government-backed insurance scheme, unlike bank deposits, which carry statutory deposit insurance. Any protection that exists is provided voluntarily by the individual platform, often through a self-funded reserve, and its terms and limits are set by that platform alone. For example, an exchange might maintain its own fund to cover a hot-wallet breach, but this is private coverage, not a regulated guarantee. Investors should read each platform's stated protections rather than assume coverage exists.

Crypto investments are subject to market risk and volatility. Past performance is not indicative of future returns. This is general information, not investment advice — consider your own circumstances or consult a qualified adviser before investing.
