What is two-factor authentication (2FA) for a crypto account?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security method that requires two separate proofs of identity before granting access to an account. For a crypto account, this usually means your password plus a second factor, such as a time-based code from an authenticator app or a hardware key. For example, even if someone learns your password, they cannot log in without the rotating code on your device. 2FA reduces the risk of unauthorised access, which is why it is a standard control for any account that holds digital assets.
