Stablecoins, RWA & Tokenization
How does RWA tokenization work?
RWA tokenization is the process of representing ownership or economic exposure to a real-world asset, such as property, gold, or bonds, as a digital token recorded on a blockchain. An issuer holds the underlying asset, then mints tokens that map to it, typically one token per defined unit. Investors can then hold, transfer, or trade those tokens, with the blockchain serving as the shared ledger of who owns what. The legal strength of any RWA token depends entirely on the custody, audit, and redemption rights backing it, so the structure behind a token matters more than the token itself.
