A fake crypto exchange or wallet app is a fraudulent application built to mimic a legitimate service so it can steal funds or credentials. Warning signs include a slightly misspelled name, very few or suspiciously recent reviews, an unverified developer, requests for your seed phrase, and download links shared through ads or direct messages rather than official channels. For example, a cloned app may copy a known logo but route deposits to the attacker's wallet. Verify the developer, install only from official sources, and cross-check the listing against the company's verified website.
