How do I verify if an NFT is authentic?

Verifying an NFT means confirming it came from the genuine creator and is not a copy minted by an impostor. You can check the smart contract address against the project's official website or verified social accounts, review the minting and transfer history on a block explorer, and confirm the listing appears on the project's official marketplace page. For example, two NFTs may show identical artwork, but only the one tied to the verified contract is authentic. This protects against copycat collections that mimic popular projects to mislead buyers.
