Tokenomics & On-chain
What is the difference between market cap and fully diluted valuation?
Market cap measures a token's value using its circulating supply, while fully diluted valuation (FDV) values it using the maximum supply that will ever exist. Market cap is current price times tokens in circulation; FDV is current price times max supply. For example, a token may show a 200 million market cap but a 2 billion FDV, signalling that most tokens are not yet released. A wide gap between the two points to future dilution, so reading both together gives a clearer picture than either alone.
Crypto investments are subject to market risk and volatility. Past performance is not indicative of future returns. This is general information, not investment advice — consider your own circumstances or consult a qualified adviser before investing.
