What is a DAO treasury?

A DAO treasury is the pool of digital assets collectively owned and controlled by a decentralized autonomous organization, used to fund its operations and initiatives. The funds, often held in a multi-signature wallet or smart contract, are spent only when members approve a proposal through governance voting, making every outflow transparent on the blockchain. For example, a DAO might hold tokens and stablecoins and vote to allocate part of them to a development grant. Because the treasury is on-chain, anyone can audit its balance and history, though asset values fluctuate with the market.
