DeFi & Yield
What is a DeFi yield vault and how does it work?
A DeFi yield vault is a smart contract that automates a yield strategy on a depositor's behalf, reallocating funds and reinvesting rewards without manual intervention. You deposit a single asset, and the vault routes it through lending, liquidity, or staking strategies, often compounding returns automatically. For example, a stablecoin vault might lend across several protocols and harvest reward tokens periodically, folding them back into the position. Vaults reduce manual effort but concentrate risk in the vault's code and its underlying strategies, so the logic and audits matter as much as the headline yield.
