What is a multisig wallet?
A multisig wallet is a crypto wallet that requires more than one private key to approve a transaction, rather than a single signature. The setup is described as M-of-N, meaning a minimum number of approvals (M) out of a total set of keys (N) is needed to move funds. For example, a 2-of-3 wallet needs any two of three keyholders to sign, so losing one key does not lock the wallet and one compromised key cannot drain it. This distributes control across multiple parties or devices.
