Stablecoins, RWA & Tokenization
What is a yield-bearing stablecoin?
A yield-bearing stablecoin is a token pegged to a stable value, usually a fiat currency, that passes income from its underlying reserves to the holder. The issuer typically parks reserves in short-term instruments such as treasury bills and routes part of that interest back to token holders, so the balance grows over time rather than staying flat. For example, a stablecoin backed by US Treasuries might accrue the bill yield daily. The yield is not fixed, depends on prevailing rates, and carries the issuer's counterparty and reserve risk.
