What is social recovery for a crypto wallet?

Social recovery is a method of regaining access to a crypto wallet through a set of pre-chosen trusted parties, called guardians, instead of a single seed phrase. It works by allowing a quorum of these guardians to authorize a key reset if you lose access, without any one of them being able to move your funds alone. For example, you might name three guardians and require two of them to approve restoring your wallet. This reduces the single-point failure of a lost seed phrase, though it depends on choosing reliable guardians and is typically built on smart contract wallets.

Crypto investments are subject to market risk and volatility. Past performance is not indicative of future returns. This is general information, not investment advice — consider your own circumstances or consult a qualified adviser before investing.
