Stablecoins, RWA & Tokenization

What is tokenization in crypto?

Tokenization in crypto is the process of representing an asset or right as a digital token recorded on a blockchain. The token stands in for ownership or a claim on something, whether a currency, a share, a bond, or a piece of property, allowing it to be transferred and tracked on-chain. For example, a tokenized treasury bill is a blockchain token whose value tracks the underlying bill. Tokenization aims to make assets easier to divide, move, and settle, though the token is only as sound as the asset and structure behind it.
