Monthly rebalancing is a discipline

A fixed cadence keeps the portfolio honest without pretending every market move deserves a reaction.

The point

A calendar does not predict the market. It protects the process from discretionary drift.

Rebalancing is often framed as a technical adjustment. In practice, it is a decision about discipline. A fixed schedule creates a known moment to review eligibility, concentration, role fit, and risk contribution.

That cadence matters because discretionary intervention tends to arrive after a move has already become emotionally expensive. A calendar-based reset creates distance between the event and the response.

The schedule is not a promise that every month will look the same. It is a promise that the same checks will be applied every month.

“A better allocation begins with a better explanation.”
