The point
Role clarity turns a list of assets into an allocation with a job to do.
A portfolio is not a collection of tickers. It is a set of responsibilities. One asset may anchor the allocation, another may carry the core network exposure, and another may provide a deliberate growth lever.
Bitcoin and Ethereum are often discussed as if they are interchangeable proxies for the same idea. Their roles can be related without being identical. The construction process should make that distinction explicit.
Role-based construction also gives rebalancing a purpose. A rebalance is not simply a trade back to a target percentage. It is a reset of the jobs the portfolio is designed to perform.
“A better allocation begins with a better explanation.”
