Tokenomics & On-chain
What is a supply schedule in crypto tokenomics?
A supply schedule is the predefined plan that governs how many units of a crypto token exist over time and the rate at which new units enter circulation. It sets issuance, any maximum supply cap, and the timing of unlocks for team, investor, and ecosystem allocations. For example, Bitcoin's schedule caps total supply at 21 million and halves new issuance roughly every four years. The schedule matters because it determines future selling pressure and scarcity: a steady stream of unlocks adds circulating supply that the market must absorb.
