Stablecoins, RWA & Tokenization

What is the difference between tokenized gold and a gold ETF?

Tokenized gold is a blockchain token that represents ownership of physical gold held by a custodian, while a gold ETF is a regulated fund unit traded on a stock exchange that tracks the gold price. Both give exposure to gold without storing bars yourself. The key differences are rails and oversight: tokenized gold settles on-chain and can trade continuously, whereas a gold ETF settles through exchanges and sits inside a regulated fund structure. Tokenized gold is structured differently from a mutual fund, and its value still moves with the gold market.
