Stablecoins, RWA & Tokenization
What is the difference between a tokenized stock and the actual share?
A tokenized stock is a blockchain token that tracks the price of a listed share, usually backed by the real share held with a custodian, whereas the actual share is direct legal ownership recorded in a company's register or a depository. Holding the real share typically carries voting rights and a direct shareholder relationship; a tokenized version generally gives price exposure and economic rights without the same legal standing. For example, a token may mirror an Apple share's price one-to-one. The token also settles on-chain rather than through traditional exchange clearing.
