What is multi-signature (multisig) in crypto?
Multi-signature, or multisig, is a wallet setup that requires more than one private key to approve a transaction. A common arrangement is 2-of-3, meaning any two of three designated keys must sign before funds move. This spreads control across multiple people or devices, so a single lost or compromised key does not expose the assets. For example, a company treasury might hold three keys with two finance officers and one held in cold storage. Multisig is a technical access-control pattern, not specific to any platform.
