Kumari Jaya

Kumari Jaya co-founded Qatobit with her husband, Kumar Sonu, and has been his partner in every business the two have built since 2015. She founded and ran Balaji Sea Foods, a supply company serving hotels, restaurants and caterers across India, which SiliconIndia listed among the twenty most promising seafood companies of 2018 with her as founder and business head, and she ran three restaurants in Chennai alongside it. Those are businesses where supply, staffing and cash are managed every day or not at all, and years of running them are the operating discipline she brought to Qatobit. She owns how the platform runs: operations end to end, the rebalance calendar, the internal controls, and the reporting that turns a published methodology into something an investor can rely on month after month. Before business there was science, a junior research fellowship at the Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture in Chennai, and the habit of checking a claim against a record comes from there. The company also started with her: when the idea was ready, she booked the call that began the build.
