The point

Unocoin's Crypto Basket product lists sixteen themed baskets, from Blue Chip to Memecoin. No basket carries a published list of holdings, a weighting rule, a rebalance calendar or its own fee. Qatobit's QSI indices name every holding, rebalance on a fixed monthly calendar and charge 0.35 percent per rebalance, with no annual fee. A reader who wants to sample many live themes for ten rupees a cycle is served by Unocoin's Systematic Buying Plan. A reader who wants a published rule for what a basket holds and when it changes is served by Qatobit QSI.

What each product is

Unocoin describes its Crypto Basket product, on its own page, as a way to "Diversify your crypto portfolio in seconds with expertly curated baskets". The same page pitches an investor to "Own the Market" instead of picking one coin. It sums the product up as "Think Mutual Funds… but for Crypto" (Unocoin, read 11 September 2026).

Qatobit is a crypto index investing platform in India: investors hold a curated basket of digital assets, rebalanced on a published methodology, rather than picking coins.

Unocoin at a glance against Qatobit

  • Minimum to start a basket: Unocoin's Crypto Basket page states no minimum investment figure for any of its sixteen baskets, as read 11 September 2026. Qatobit opens each QSI index from ₹2,000.
  • Fee to buy a basket: Unocoin's basket page carries no basket-specific fee. Its general instant buy and sell rate, on the fee page, is 0.5 percent of the transaction amount plus 18 percent GST on that fee. Qatobit charges 0.35 percent of the transaction amount on a basket buy, sell or rebalance.
  • Fee per rebalance or exit: Unocoin's basket page and fee page publish no rebalance fee and no rebalance calendar for any of the sixteen baskets. Qatobit charges 0.35 percent each time a QSI index rebalances, on a fixed monthly calendar, and nothing to exit at any holding period.
  • Annual or management fee: Unocoin states none on the pages read for this comparison. Qatobit states none across all four QSI indices.
  • Basket composition published: Unocoin's page names sixteen basket themes. Eight run Blue Chip, DeFi, Memecoin, NFT, Metaverse, Governance Tokens, Gaming Tokens and Privacy Coins. The other eight run Stablecoin, Market Cap, Volume Leaders, Good Entry Micro Cap, Good Entry Mid Cap, Beginner, Friendship and VC Watchlist. No constituent list is published for any of them. Qatobit names every holding on every index's own product page.
  • Weighting rule: Unocoin's page states no weighting rule for any basket. Qatobit documents a methodology per index, published before launch, with hard caps on QSI GEQ8: no holding above 15 percent or below 3 percent.
  • Rebalance cadence: Unocoin publishes no rebalance calendar for any basket. Qatobit rebalances all four QSI indices monthly.
  • SIP: Unocoin's own Systematic Buying Plan page states a ₹10 minimum, three frequency options (daily, weekly or monthly) and support for two or more cryptocurrencies. Qatobit runs a SIP into an index from ₹2,000 per cadence, or into a single asset from ₹500 weekly or biweekly.
  • Custodial fee on inactivity: Unocoin's fee page states a 0.0001 BTC per month custodial fee on accounts holding crypto with no buy or sell activity, in effect since March 2023. Qatobit charges no such fee.
  • Custody, as published: Unocoin's fee page states its cold storage "holds more than 90 percent of crypto deposits" and is "completely managed by Unocoin." Qatobit states institutional custody.
  • Proof of reserves: Unocoin's Proof of Reserve page returned no visible content to an automated read on 11 September 2026. Qatobit's proof of reserves is live and available at any time.
  • Scale: Unocoin's own homepage states "Join over 2 million users," and its App Store listing shows 3.6 stars from 1.6 thousand ratings, both read 11 September 2026. Qatobit does not publish a comparable user count.

What ₹25,000 a month costs on each platform

Unocoin publishes no basket-specific fee, so this uses its general instant buy rate instead. At that rate, a ₹25,000 monthly buy costs ₹147.50: ₹125 at 0.5 percent, plus ₹22.50 in GST on that ₹125. Across twelve months, the general rate adds up to ₹1,770. It is a rate arithmetic only, since Unocoin publishes no fee specific to any basket.

A Qatobit QSI index charges 0.35 percent of the transaction amount on every buy, sell or rebalance. A ₹25,000 monthly contribution costs ₹87.50 in fee, which is 0.35 percent of ₹25,000. Twelve such contributions across a year add up to ₹1,050. There is no annual management fee, and nothing charged to leave at any holding period.

What each fee buys differs more than what either costs. Unocoin states no rebalance rule for any of its sixteen baskets, so a buyer cannot know what happens to that basket's mix a year from now. The 0.35 percent on a Qatobit QSI index pays for a rebalance the index runs on a fixed date every month, a rule published before the index launched.

Where Unocoin is genuinely stronger

Unocoin's history is real: founded in July 2013, more than thirteen years of operation, and its own about page calls it "India's leading bitcoin company". Its Systematic Buying Plan opens from ₹10, with three frequency options and support for more than one cryptocurrency, all confirmed on its own page. Its App Store listing states access to 95-plus cryptocurrencies and names Crypto Lending among its features. Its homepage states "Join over 2 million users", a scale Qatobit does not publish a comparable figure for.

Where Qatobit is stronger

Qatobit names every QSI index's holdings on the index's own product page. All four rebalance on the same fixed monthly calendar, a rule set and published before each index launched, rather than a rebalance cadence left unstated across sixteen products. QSI GEQ8 carries a hard cap on every holding: no position above 15 percent or below 3 percent, a rule Unocoin states for none of its baskets. Qatobit's proof of reserves is live and available at any time. Unocoin's own Proof of Reserve page returned no visible content the same day this page was checked.

The QSI indices, in full

Qatobit runs four QSI Crypto Indices.

  • QSI Core holds Bitcoin, Ethereum, Gold and a stable reserve (USDT Earn).
  • QSI Growth holds Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Gold and a stable reserve (USDT Earn).
  • QSI VRION holds Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana, with no hedge layer.
  • QSI GEQ8 holds eight global companies across three sleeves. The platform sleeve holds Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta Platforms and NVIDIA. The digital finance sleeve holds Coinbase and Robinhood Markets. The innovation sleeve holds Tesla. No holding sits above 15 percent or below 3 percent, and the composition gets a quarterly review.

Every holding on every index is named on Qatobit's own product pages, and each index's methodology is documented and published before launch. Every index rebalances monthly. The minimum per index is ₹2,000, and a Crypto SIP into an index also starts at ₹2,000 per cadence. Buying, selling or rebalancing any index costs 0.35 percent of the transaction amount, shown before the investor confirms. No index carries an annual management fee, an exit load, a lock-in or a minimum holding period, at any holding period. INR deposits and withdrawals run through NEFT, RTGS or IMPS, with a ₹200 minimum on either side and no fee. Custody is institutional, and proof of reserves is live.

Who should choose which

A reader who wants to sample many themes cheaply is served by Unocoin's ₹10 Systematic Buying Plan. No basket's holdings, weights or rebalance rule are published anywhere, so that reader accepts the gap going in. A reader who wants leverage, futures or lending on the same platform as a basket product is served by Unocoin's wider exchange, which Qatobit does not offer. A reader who wants a fixed monthly rule applied to a published set of holdings is served by Qatobit QSI. The composition and the cadence are set out before the money moves. That comes at a ₹2,000 minimum, with a live proof-of-reserves page and no charge to leave at any holding period.

How this page was checked

This page was built by reading Unocoin's own pages on 11 September 2026. The Crypto Basket page, the Systematic Buying Plan page, the fee page, the about page, the homepage and the App Store listing all rendered in full. The Proof of Reserve page returned no visible content to the same automated read. Qatobit's figures are drawn from Qatobit's own product documentation. This page is rechecked against the same sources roughly once a month, and the Last verified line above changes in place.

A reader who wants a working method for judging any basket's rulebook, Unocoin's or anyone else's, can use a five-point framework for reading a crypto index methodology. A proof-of-reserves page can only prove so much, even the kind that renders. That question is covered in does proof of reserves prove your crypto basket is backed. The construction and monthly rebalance behind the four indices used on this page is laid out in four crypto indexes, one methodology. The same comparison, run against a different basket product, is in Qatobit QSI vs Mudrex Coin Sets.

Frequently asked questions

Does Unocoin publish what is inside each of its sixteen baskets?

Not on the pages read for this comparison. Unocoin's Crypto Basket page names sixteen themes, Blue Chip through VC Watchlist. It states no constituent list, weighting rule or rebalance calendar for any of them, as read 11 September 2026. Qatobit names every holding on every QSI index's own product page.

Is Unocoin's ₹10 Systematic Buying Plan entry real?

Yes. Unocoin's own SBP page states a ₹10 minimum investment, three frequency options and support for more than one cryptocurrency, read 11 September 2026. It is a single-asset SIP product, separate from the sixteen themed baskets.

Is Unocoin's proof of reserves live?

Not as far as an automated read on 11 September 2026 could confirm. Unocoin's own Proof of Reserve page returned no visible content to that read. Qatobit's proof of reserves is live and available at any time.

What does a Qatobit QSI index cost to buy and to leave?

0.35 percent of the transaction amount on every buy, sell or rebalance. No index carries an annual management fee, and nothing is charged to leave, at any holding period, on any of the four indices.

Can I buy a themed basket on Qatobit the way I can on Unocoin?

Qatobit sells four permanent-allocation indices, QSI Core, QSI Growth, QSI VRION and QSI GEQ8, each with its own published composition and monthly rebalance. None is a rotating catalogue of theme baskets. A reader who specifically wants a rotating set of themed baskets, such as Unocoin's DeFi or Memecoin baskets, is better served by Unocoin.
